I'm Dr. Ajay Kanojia Born in small town at India’s heart ( Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh) to a very loving parents and relatives, living a large joint family. Being eldest child, I was showered with loads of love and care from whole extended family. I completed my initial learnings – KG to PG ( yes, you read it right, from Kindle garden to Post Graduation) from Jabalpur. Few great teachers at Model High School ( now Pt LSJ School), shaped my early life.
Following which, I got my initial medical training from Govt Medical College ( RD University, Jabalpur) and where I also completed my post graduation, under guidance of great and very dedicated teachers of that time ( 1981-1989).
A life's journey shaped by loving parents, relative, friends and inspiring teachers ...
Once I completed my post graduation in Medicine (MD- Medicine), I wanted to start my clinic in Jabalpur, but my guide Prof V.D. Singh and Prof B.N. Shrivastava, called my parents and insisted that I should be going to large city to get further exposure in new technology. So, I landed in New Delhi, India’s Capital, in July 1989. After initial struggle, I got my first job in Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre, in sept 1989, which shaped by entire career as a cardiologist. I was touched very dynamic and a magical leader par excellence – Dr Naresh Trehan, who inspired not only me but I think, huge number of doctors like me to choose career in this exciting field. Once, I got into cath lab and touched by magic of Dr Ashok Seth, I decided to continue and get trained to become cardiologist. Dr Seth, continues to remain my mentor and source of inspiration. During this period, I was also lucky to be part of the team, which inspired me and worked really hard to make Escorts Heart Institute a world class institute ( specially by Dr Ravi Kasliwal, Dr T. S. Kler, Dr Anil Saxena, Dr. Praveen Chandra, Dr Atul Mathur to name a few..). I later got trained and worked in NHS, UK and USA, but my training at Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre ( Now Fortis Escorts Hospital), I think was most inspiring and still makes me nostalgic when I think about my those days.
I am really grateful to so many friends from Jabalpur, who have been part of my growing up and life’s early learning journey. Also friends at Delhi, Greater Noida, Raipur, Norfolk, Ras Al Khaimah, who have given me so much fun, love and support.
I am indeed very lucky to have my Wife Nilanjana, who has always remained strong pillar of support and given me unconditional love, care and happiness. I am also lucky to have my two loving and cute children. They have been greatest blessing and have enriched my life’s journey with love, care and just being there !!!
